New PSR 500C -Search storage...

Well I just recvd my new PSR 500C and I must say it is GREAT! I made a error when I first started, I push the "SEARCH" button and it started searching found radio traffic that was interesting so I hit "STORE" soft key button,I did this approx 7 or 8 times, storing the freqs. After I realize this I attempted numerous time to lock out the freqs and tried to stop the search when I hit "SCAN". I finally figured out how to program TGID one for POLICE and scan channel 2 as FIRE. But when I hit the scan it show the "SEARCH " and all talkgroups even those I do not want to hear.
Is there anyway of elimatating these initial stored from the search and to stop the searching ?

I'd start over. Press 0 then1 then ENT at turn on of scanner to erase scanner memory.
