Default PSR-600 Question

I just purchased the psr-600 and want to use it in my car. Can anyone PLEASE tell me where i can get a cord that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket to power this radio ? I dont know how to "hard wire" to the car battery and would have a difficult time getting through the car interior to the battery.

GRE makes one for the hand-held, but not the 600. You can go to Radio Shack and get the plug you need and connect it to the supplied cable.

Mine came with the fused cord in the box as did the 2 197's.

I didn't mean to imply they carried the power cord. I was suggesting you purchase a cigarette lighter power plug (I think they still carry those) and attach it to the red & black 12V power cord that should have been supplied with your scanner. You also need to make sure you get the polarity (+/-) correct.

Yes, that will work. Im did just that with my 600 in the event of one of our regular power outages in my village. I use my jump starter with 12V socket, until I get my generator running.

Nope, it's a T plug and even though Radio Shack has sold the Pro-2096 for more then 4 years, they have never sold the T plug by itself. The 2096 was also shipped with the mobile cord in box with radio.
