Smile New GRE user

After many years of owning my share of Radio Shack and Uniden scanners, I finally bought a GRE PSR-300 handlheld. Should be getting it Monday. I'm sure I will have a few questions and look forward to my input here on RR!

Thumbs up Psr-300

Although most of the scanners I own (listed below) are "Rado Shack", they are made by GRE. I too recently purchased a GRE PSR-300 and could not be happier with it. I was able to program it with WIN97, which I already had set up for my PRO-97s. I did have to upgrade to a later version of WIN97, and the PSR-300 can not be programmed from the COM version cable (it requires the USB version).

If you are familiar with the PRO-97, the first thing you'll notice is the new display which includes an S meter. The way the PSR-300 handles low battery is tons more user friendly than earlier models as well.

What is the latest (GRE-made) Radio Shack model you have been using? If it was Uniden made or a very old version GRE, there could be a slight learning curve to this model.

My oldest scanner that was "RS" GRE built is the pro-39 (which is ancient). So I will have to learn the new GRE setup. I bought it early as it was on sale and now the only problem is my wife wants me to put it up til Christmas!
