Default GRE 500 error msg

Greetings,
As others have posted I also have had some type of scanner since
1970. Wish I could remember all the types I have had, after Vietnam
I got into Law Enforcement and back then if you wanted to know what
was going on anywhere other then your area, you needed some
type of scanner.

Wore out more that one scanner riding around in my brief case for
20 plus years.

These new type scanners just amaze me with their technology.

Anyway while using my new GRE500 today, it would lock on a freq,
when I would push scan I would get a error msg: Heap error 221F1F:2226?

Still cannot believe a error msg on a handheld scanner!

Thanks
AJ

Had a similar error... the only thing that worked for me to reset it was to default to factory settings. Hope you have your programming saved to a V-folder.

Default Thanks

This scanner is a whole lot different then the many I have had before. V-Folders, still trying figure those out or how to get to them, I may have over wrote them already with the WIN500 program?

And as all the other scanners, I may have to read the 138 page manual I printed out, using my
duplex two sided printer!

Again, thanks for the info.

Here is a guide to help with importing from RR into win500:

This error msg will not allow to acess V Folders. Pressing FUNC PGM, brings up the Heap error 221F1F : 2226 msg?

You might need to restart after each button press. Turn off then on. In win500 go to the "All Objects" tab, make sure that "unassigned" is checked on the right toolbar. Then slowly scroll through and look for any "Unassigned: xxx" talkgroups and either delete them or assign them.
