Default Questions About GRE 500 & 600

Is the speaker size the same in both radios? I used to have a 600 and was impressed with the sound quality. I am thinking of getting a 500 to afford myself portability but do not want to sacrifice audio quality.

Also, I cannot remember if the frequency step size is selectable or fixed. I assume it is selectable but am not sure...

Any recommendations for multi-band rubber ducks? I know there really is no such thing but there must be one or two that are better than others.

Thanks in advance.

No, the speaker in the 500 is smaller, but still sounds good.

Flexstep - allows you to enter a frequency in any 1.250 MHz step.

Many users recommend the RadioShack 800MHz antenna.

I bought the 500 and just recently upgraded to the Radio er.....*ahem*, I mean,... The Shack 800mhz rubber duckie.

It helps a LOT and doesn't seem to hurt anything else, and may even help come other freqs that used to be a little scratchy. But that could just be the placebo affect.

All the other questions you asked were answered by others and I agree with what they posted.
