Default PSR-600 TSYS Settings?

Greetings Everyone!

Our local public safety is listed in the database as using a "Motorola Type II Smartzone analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface". For a while we were able to monitor traffic on the trunked channels but recently we're only receiving fire dispatch on "conventional" channels.

We're currently using the default settings for a "MOT 800/900" TSYS. Is this the correct TSYS type based on the database listing above?

Are there other advanced settings we might need to change?

Thanks for your help!

Try switching it to "P25 AUTO" see what you get. Do you have the talkgroups entered? DUPE the entered MOT 800/900 channel. If you don't know the talkgroups just enter a wildcard for the talkgroups.

We have several talkgroups entered and grouped into different scan lists based on their role (fire, police, ems, etc.).

I switched the TSYS to "P25 AUTO" as suggested and created a new wildcard talkgroup in a separate scan list. No traffic on the trunked system which is pretty unusual for a county of 500K residents.

I'm starting to wonder if the county switched or rebanded their existing system. How would the database reflect a rebanded system or, is there any way I can verify the listed frequencies against the scanner defaults?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again for your help.

The talkgroups might have changed, you have the correct TSYS settings.

Welcome to RR.com. It would help immensely if you would give your location and the system you are trying to monitor. Is there a possibility that the system has just undergone rebanding? I would change your trunking tables to Motorola 800 MHz Rebanded first.

I urge you to return to your User CP (the left side of the second blue bar from the top of any page if you are logged in) and edit your profile to include your location (city and state) as you were requested to do in the material e-mailed to you when you registered. Once you fill in your location it will automatically show in each of your posts. Many of the questions you will have, and their answers, are going to be location specific and without having your location showing you will be asked over and over again what it is. So fill it in now and be done with it.

It's a Motorola Type II system, so the correct type would be MOT 800/900. Depending on where you are, it could be an issue with rebanding, but without knowning exactly which system you're looking at, we can't tell you for sure.

Here in ILL we have a Motorola TYPE11-3600 baud system that rebanded and need to have the "Custom Rebanding Steps added plus the freqys dropped 15mgz, we also have one "Stateville Prison" which no Custom Rebanding Steps needed just dropping the freqys 15mgz worked fine....ILL-Starcom 9600baud rebanded and just dropping the freqys 15mgz was all that was needed....
