So where are the people that are insisting that GRE went out of business?

I know someone who is attending CES and asked them to stop by GRE's booth and get some info. If I hear anything I'll pass it along.

I have no inside connection or information. I called GRE America because I needed tech help with my PSR-800, I asked about the status of the PSR-900 and shared that info.

Anyone heard yet if GRE is actually in their reserved booth at CES?

Not sure if this means anything or not, but Uniden's UpMan made a comment about GRE's booth at the show in a recent post...

"While GRE has a booth, I suspect it is one that they had to reserve prior to their meltdown. With no current operations, I doubt that they are there,"

from this post...

I just heard back from the person I know attending CES. He asked the guys at the GRE booth about any knowledge of future production. They either didn't know anything or were being very tight lipped. It was small booth.

This is what I received a few days ago in response to the direct question of "Is the PSR-900 still in production and if so, when do you anticipate it's release?"

Hi e911god,

Thank you for contacting GRE America

There is no set date on the PSR-900. Please feel free to check our website
for further update on this scanner. Have a great day!

Probably because no one really knows for sure...................

This is not like say a company that has a manufacturing facility in Oxnard California that closed. Their facility is in a communist country and it was shut down by the government because they wanted the land for other uses....

Their press release upon closing the facility was quite complete................they had to close and they are working on a new place, but they have no idea how long it will be.

By maintaining the GREAMERICA facility, they are trying to prove they are going to come back at some point.

I am encouraged by their answering emails and continuing to provide support/repairs

I'm not encouraged by their vague response to a question about the PSR-900 and the fact that nobody really knows what is going on with the oompany.

If I was a business that had a large installed base of GRE scanners I'd be worried.

This is exactly what is going on. NOBODY, not even GRE knows what is going on hence the fact that they have allowed major scanner retailers to go and raise the price of the 800.

No...I just saw it, and put it up.

There seemed to be some questions about the "legitimacy" of the other announcements (i.e. "former" VP, dealer inquiries, etc), so I saw this, and.....?!?

I agree. That is why I haven't bought a portable scanner to replace my D250XLT. My primary interest is Law enforcement trunking systems, particularly Shawnee & Douglas counties in KS. If the current handheld scanners fail to decode APCO 25 well, it is a waste of money to me.
