Updates:

This AM I got to work and turned my older PSR-800 on using CPU v1.6 and DSP v1.1. It stopped on one Loudoun Co. VA TG and was "stuttering" on a single TG that it has done so all week. The TG is not used that much.

I then updated my new PSR-800 to CPU v1.7 and DSP v1.3. Both are using the same exact programming and are both performing exactly the same right now. I want to see that one TG pop up and see how the the one with "beta 2' version.

I am looking forward to your results because I only have one PSR-800 and it does this on a TG or two every once in a while.

FWIW - I just returned from a trip to Key West and saw a similar situation on the Monroe County PS system which is a Motorola Type II SmartZone system (vs. an X2 or P2 system) although it was digital voice. It looked like the radio was reacting to the CC activity and tuning to the voice frequency but had trouble holding the voice channel.

Sometimes it did this and other times it was fine on the same TG which leads me to believe the radio occasionally locked onto a different (distant) site or something was interfering with a specific frequency on the system at times.

Right now I have 2 PSR-800s scanning the same system and another running UniTrunker. We'll see what happens.

So far, both radios with either CPU and DSP version work flawlessly. I honestly think there was something going on with the Loudoun Co. VA system. Yesterday I heard them announce on a sheriff's office TG to not use the radio for the next XX mins unless it was an emergency because there was maintenance being performed.
