So how does the news of GRE ceasing operations affect this new "beta" firmware???
Unless GRE is succesful with "re-organization", looks like the PSR-900 is dead...

I'm the one other person. No, it never had issues with the Loudoun Co. VA X2 system.

There is some chance a fix will be made to the observed issues with the "experimental beta" firmware.
I would not assume that anything is dead, but may be delayed.

Well, at least it still sounds like GRE is trying to start a US based company again...
That's good news!

EZ Scan Digital 1.07
Been working with audio recordings some this evening and noticed a couple of things.
First the file count is no longer there. Looks like they put the read disk button where it used to be.
Overall sluggish performance working within the Audio tab, doing anything, sometimes with extended periods of unresponsiveness even using a card reader. It's as bad or even worse than what it was in 1.06 using the USB cable at times.

Ref the 2nd slot problem
I was monitoring the local Phase 2 layer on the system here and as I mentioned it is almost entirely encrypted. However, the traffic on it slowed down quite a lot this afternoon and I was able to see times when only a single TG was active. During some of those periods that single TG would land on the second TDMA slot and I could still hear them on the PSR800 with the beta firmware. Of course since they were encrypted I could only tell that I could hear something in both slots when there was only one TG active, so I can not tell if a capture of the first slot preempts second slot audio. But at least the second slot seems to work on Phase 2 transmissions contrary to what we see on the X2 transmission where it doesn't work at all.
This is put here just in case someone at GRE development who is still working cares

I am another person in Northern VA seeing the same issues on the Loudoun county system. Also confirm this was not an issue prior to the beta update.

I'd be willing to bet what's left of GRE America will get this resolved. From what I gather most of them are scanner enthusiasts also.

Yes, the slot problem should only affect X2 TDMA. Phase 2 slot handling should be OK.
FWIW.
EDIT: And, yes, the X2 TDMA slot problem was introduced in the "experimental beta" firmware.

Yes, when I read about this X2 issue, I monitored our X2-TDMA system here locally. I can clearly see when the scanner detects a signal but there's no audio coming through the speaker.
I reverted back to 1.06 last night and suddenly had about 2-3x the amount of voice traffic. I didn't see the above issue after the downgrade.
So if you have a X2 system to monitor -- you'll want to stay with 1.06.

Try the DSP and CPU firmware update items from the PC software's "Updates" menu. They should let you revert to the most recent "official" (i.e. non-beta) release.

I read the directions.
Just do what Don said.
PS. I could not get the application to roll back. They said just to upgrade it back but it won't let me roll-back using the updater. I'm not as concerned about the application version however.

With this new beta for PII support how does it relate to gaining support for MOTOTRBO? All of the local police in my town have moved to the new MOTOTRBO and I would like to monitor them. Is that possible or are networks too different?

I finally got around to installing this update today. I don't think we have any of the X2-TDMA systems around my area.
