Default psr 800 question

I was thinking getting the the psr800. But I have a few questions about it. Am I able to charge the batteries while the radio is turn on? Also on the CC Dump. Example> 855.1125 c01 856.2125 c03 857.0125 c04 etc... When I had the psr500 I got the Edacs LNC correct on the CC. I see scannermaster is sold out for now.

1) no the batteries don''t charge while the scanner is on

2) I don't know about the CC info you want.

3) Try http://www.aesham.com/ Amatuer Electronics , That's where I got my 800 from.

I looked at the Freq range on the 700mhz on the 800 starts from 764.000 but on the bcd396xt starts from 758.000mhz that is a big difference wonder why? I ordered the 800 today should be here Mon or Tues. Got it from Ham Radio Outlet

The radio is powered and can be programmed via the provided USB cable. You do not need an external power cord. Powered off, the cable will allow charging the batteries but most users do not recommend doing that. Use an external battery charger instead.

I can't see using a $500 dollar scanner to charge a $15.00 set of batteries that could easily leak when charging ---thus ruining a $500 radio.

I'll buy a $25.00 charger to do that & do a much better job

BUT that is me and my opinion-------which is worth exactly what you paid for it

I don't know of any scanner that utilizes connect tones. Including the PSR500.

If you are talking about NAC `tones'/`codes' used by P25 `conventional' systems, yes the PSR-800 has the ability to find and use them.

I see the recording does not record the tone when the station gets paged out. It will record the audio.

You mean pager alert tones or tone codes?

If pager tones, it sounds like the tones are being sent on a different frequency so you;d need to capture and record that too.

Its on the same Freq (channel) doesn't record the 2 tone page but when dispatcher comes on it will record that.

I've recorded dispatch on my systems and the tone isn't treated and differently than any other audio on a given channel that is being recorded -- it records tones and voice for me.

What system/frequency are you trying to record?
