I am thinking of using a GRE preamplifier with my PSR 800 to bring in the low-band signals better. Has anyone had experience or can advise on my doing so. It does fine, especially on 700/800 mhz, but needs a "little boost" on the low band frequencies (42-45 mhz).

So Far Away....
ive got about 50-55 feet between me and the discone i have above roofline.

i use the amp in line, about 20ft from the radio..i like to boost the signal somewhere in the middle,
rather than directly on the radio..
also the ATT will help to clear up some of the noise..

about the specific bands,not sure...
Cheers!
