EZ Scan not updating existing scanlists with new objects.
Hello everybody, I have a question which I've searched for an answer in the archives but cannot find, so excuse me if this has been addressed before. After applying today's library update (12/1/12) and then going ahead with the option to update existing systems with the new library data, I noticed that the new objects did not get added to my scan lists. These are all systems that were originally downloaded from the EZ library to begin with, as I did find on my search on this subject that systems that were not created from the library would not be updated.
I noticed that certain systems have had new objects added as the daily updates would come out ( in particular 11/26/12) but deliberately did not add them then because I wanted to experiment with seeing if they were going to be added Saturday (today), after updating library and updating existing systems. They did not show up. Just wondering if anyone can help me understand what is supposed to happen? Thanks in advance, John.

I believe the updates to existing only update the core radio system details like frequencies, etc. It has no way to know how your scanlists are set up.
I've always thought that it would be great if the import could have an option to auto-arrange/group TGs into groups/scanlists similar to the way they appear on RR - Police, Fire, Sheriff, etc. If it did that, then it might make more sense to auto-auto/import new or changed TGs into those "bins".

So, lets suppose that I have a trunked radio system that I added, and it shows up on the Trunked Radio Systems tab.
I previously assigned all of the talk groups to scanlist 9.
The system adds a new talk group.
I update my library.
That new talk group now appears in the list of talk groups for that system.
But under scanlists, it is blank rather than 9.
Is that the way it works?

Yes, but what I meant to say (sorry if I wasn't clear before) is that I thought the new options would show up in the 'main menu of the updated system' in the scanners library files. For instance I have the Pinellas County Public Services (Project 25) Trunking System, Pinellas County, Florida - Scanner Frequencies system in the scanner, which was downloaded from the library when it first was published in the database. But in this latest update they added a whole new category (Pinellas Co. Public Services with 3 talk groups. The category didn't show up in the scanners library database after updating the systems with "new info". I mistakenly used the phrase "imported into my scan lists" which was not accurate of the question I asked, and for that I apologize. I hope it makes sense now?

I may be wrong, but it sounds like you missed the step where you actually assign conventional objects and TG's a scan list. After checking a box in the "Talk group Categories" section on the top of the page, there is another box lower right hand side of the same page which says "Import selected systems". That bring you to the assign scan list page were you would assign your object into scan list 9. Hope that helps.
News flash - on a second 800 there's no problem with the previously mentioned issue. I'm going to check some settings and give GRE a call Mon. to see whats up.

I think the question is what happens to systems that already appear in the Trunked Radio Systems list when the library is updated. Assigning a TG to a scan list comes after adding the system to the Trunked Radio Systems list, but that's not the question.
If a system already appears on the Trunked Radio Systems list, and the system creates a new TG, then updating the library should automatically add the new TG to those previously listed for that system.
Is that correct?
But updating the library does not update any scan lists.
Is that correct?

I would think that updating the Library only updates the new options now available from the update, and it's up to the individual which one's they will add to active duty in the scan list from selecting them from the updated menu in the library database, so no, updating the library does not update any scan lists automatically.
