Need details please. The only things known now are that you have a PSR-800 and you are having problems programing it.

Are you using EZScan to program the scanner?
What is "Open Noise"? Will the squelch control quite the radio?
What system are you trying to program into the scanner? Digital or Analog?
Is the card the one that came with the scanner?
Do you have a spare card and, if so, does it do the same thing?

You need to be more coherent and detailed in describing your problems, including what exactly you were doing when the problem occurred, and what steps you already tried to fix it.

Did you use EZscan to "Prepare Scanner Memory Card for Use" before programming it?

Were you updating talkgroups using the automatic capability of EZscan or doing it manually?

Here is piece of advice I am sure it's been mentioned a time or two. Get yourself another sd card as backup. 8 gb class 10 cards go for about 16 bucks so two puts you out 32 dollars. Then you can keep the scanner on all the time and update the card through a card reader (much faster) with minimal down time and backup in case one of your cards goes tu. Then every saturday swap one card for the other do the back up on the card you took out.

Dave have you been using the "safely remove hardware and eject media" thing on your computer when you disconnect the radio? (looks like the end of a USB cord with a green dot with a check mark) I have the PSR-800 for 9 days now and when I first got it, I was just unpluging it and was having some issues with the SD card, but after I started using the "safely remove" thing I've had zero problems with that issue. (did you go to OHS?)
