Default gre psr-600/

just bought gre psr-600advanced digital scanner. question is local police frequencys are encrypted will this scanner decode transmissions? or should i load it back it the box and send it back ?

NO scanners can decode encrypted transmissions.

No, the PSR-600 will not decode the encrypted signals. If you are in Pensacola the city is on a trunked system http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=269 and can be picked up by your scanner just fine. The County Fire channels which are Digital but not encrypted can and will need the PSR-600 or other Digital scanner to pick them up.

Default Encryption

No scanner will allow monitoring encrypted signals because it is a federal crime to do so.

Not to mention the fact that it is extremely improbable from a technical standpoint as well.
