Default PSR-800 and Problems with one Conventional Frequency

I'm in Plymouth Co. Iowa, Our SO has one frequency. 154.860, and quite a bit during the day it will stop on this frequency for a few seconds and make the LED flash but I get no audio. I did have the recording to see if during the time I'm not around if the Scanner is getting anything and it is. Also with the squelch knob, I did start at where the manual says is the best position but I can actually turn it all the way to the right and it will still do this, so I dont think it's my manual squelch setting. I did reformat the card and reload my V-scanner file to make sure nothing was corrupted with no fix.

So that brings me here...any ideas?

if it helps heres my settings on the Conventional Tab in EZ Scan:
Alpha Tag = Plymouth SO, Frequency = 154.860, Mode = FM, Squelch = NAC 075, DLY = on, TIME = 2.0, BKLT/LED = Leave/Flash, Alert = None, DMode = Digital, AGC = on

I do have the Encryption Digital Audio Settings = Digital Noise. I did this to see while I was recording if the deputies are using it or not and so far a week in and I have no digital noise. I say this because I thought at first I might have changed the settings to silence and thats not the case. Im not seeing the "E" come up on the screen either.

Default Stopping on frequency

Are you sure when it stops it's no at the end of a conversation? Leave it on that frequency when you are at home and see if breaks the squelch with no audio. It's surprising sometimes how often any radio will stop on frequency at the end of a conversation. I've scanned with one radio and left another on a TG before when I thought my radio was missing transmissions. IT depends on how much information you have the scanner scanning and how much action on the others frequencies and talk groups there is.

Since you recorded traffic while you aren't home I would suspect the abover is happening. Just a thought.

thanks, ill look into that.

I have set 46 conventional frequencies, and two talkgroups. not sure if I'm hurting scanning speed but with all that I have 5 scan lists. at home mostly its just 3 but ill turn the other two on when traveling south to pick up the larger town south of me 25 Mile's

My first thought is to change your squelch setting to SEARCH. See if that helps.

Tried the "Search" option and its still doing it. I've sat with the scanner now for a few hours and sometimes it will do this problem (Stop on the Plymouth SO frequency, make the LED flash but no audio) about 4 to 6 times in one minute and then stop for a while then do it again a few times and then stop again for a while. And when I say for a while, it could be just a few minutes to 20-30 minutes. I am getting talk on the channel, and when that comes up Im seeing the "DG" when they talk. When it just comes on for a few secs, I'm not getting the "DG" if this helps.

Right now I'm deleting my V-scanner file from PC and scanner and starting over from scratch. I'm really lost because it wasn't doing this at first, just started the other day. I've had the scanner for 2 weeks now...

Deleting SD card and V-Scanner and re-doing everything didn't do anything different. Something from the Plymouth SO must of changed and is causing the scanner to stop.

Unless anyone has any other ideas, I'm giving up. -

No, I get no "DG" on the screen. (I do get the DG when they talk though) It stops on this channel, the LED will flash and then carry on to scan again. I dont hear a mic click or anything. It's not long enough for the recorder to pick it up either.
