Question PSR-800 EZ Scan software

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the PSR-800 which I have owned for a few weeks now.
Nice radio.

When scanning / monitoring a trunked system, is there a way to search for any active talkgroups through the radio or enabling it using the EZ Scan software?

I know RS has open mode and Uniden has search mode too.
What am I missing?

All I seem to get are the pre-programmed talkgroups that have been loaded in.

Thanking you in advanced
Scott

Yes, you have to create a "Wildcard" TG. See this thread. I created a scanlist with just a wildcard in it for listening to all TGs on the MSP 800Mhz system labeled "MSP Wildcard", also useful for discovering new ones as a lot of other agencies are on the system.

You're welcome, RainbowSix and wingmaker.

It does take a while to learn the features and wrap your head around Object Oriented memory management, but it's extremely versatile and powerful once you learn it. Enjoy the PSR-800, it's a great scanner.

One of the neat things about wildcards is you can use them with the REC flag to have unknown traffic automatically recorded for later analysis.
