Default update channel

I have a question about the update channel of the ez scan software. what I am doing is saving wildcards that come up in the Michigan Public Safety Communications System. well when I save a wildcard it just puts the talkgroup id as you all know. my question is doesnt the update channel rewright the correct alpha tag in place of the default talkgroup id?

If I understand your question correctly, then yes, update channel will (I believe) change the talkgroup ID alpha tag to the one in the RR database and overwrite the name you have given it. I say I believe, because I have actually never done it as I have changed the alpha tags on many of my IDs to something that better suits my needs and would hate for EZ scan software to overwrite it all.
