Default Where to buy PSR-310 cable?

Where can I purchase a PSR-310 cable in Canada for a reasonable price? The ones I see online are almost $50 and I don't want to pay that much for a cable.

Thanks!

Remember that you're not just paying for a simple cable. What you're getting is a cable, a USB to Serial adapter, and the circuitry to convert the RS-232 serial signals into the special ones used by the scanner.

Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to get one for less, unless you find someone who ended up with 2 by some `happenchance', doesn't think they'll need a second/spare one, and is feeling generous.

As n5ims said, it's more than just a plain cable.

You might try calling around to Radio Shacks near and far to see
if they might have one available as discontinued/marked down/open package.

That's exactly what I did last September, and found one for $7.99 at an RS store near to me.
Amazingly, I see the same one posted by someone (not me) right now on our local craigslist for $10.
http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ele/3544442191.html

It programs several Radio Shack and GRE scanners that I have (the PSR-310 for one),
along with my Yaesu and Kenwood amateur radios (with plug adapted).

Alternatively, with very, very basic electronic experience,
you can build your own quite easily.
The plug's pin-outs are on the web.
You also could modify one of the super cheap programming cables
used for most of the Chinese ham handhelds, too.

Just say NO to high priced cables.
Good luck.
