Default GRE PSR-800

Hello,
I bought one of these scanners at an Auction and would love to hear some feedback on them . I will receive it this week and know nothing about this scanner . I do own Radio Shacks pro 197 and looking for a Uniden 396 T .. Where and How do I program this scanner please . I am looking for the 94945 area code if thats what it goes by. Any help or hints to short cut my programing will be very appreciated. Where is the best place to get the Software and cable to program please.

Happy Scanning John

Software and cable come with the scanner..Follow the software and it will lead you thru the programming..Its easy but different than you are probably used to.

John - ahead of receiving your PSR-800 you can go to GRE America, Inc. - grecom scanner receiver, lcd modules, spread spectrum radio, wireless bridge, scanner antenna, scanner pre-amps. and 1) download the owners manual and 2) download the most recent version of EZ Scan software and install it (which has its own help file). The owners manual is an easy read and helped a considerable amount while I was waiting to receive my own scanner.

Once you receive it, you may first want to play with it but unless a previous owner already did so you will soon want to update the firmware; the EZ Scan software assists with that task and the forum here can obviously help as well. Good luck!

Coming from a Pro-164 myself, if you could program a scanner before, the 800 will be a piece of cake. All the channels and trunk systems are imported from the RR database to the software, then you click to transfer the configuration to the scanner's SD card.

I assure you, you will not be disappointed with the purchase.

While it is a piece of cake..............................it is a totally different way of programming that makes some people go nuts

read the threads,,,,,,,,,,ALL of them

Read the manual.............................all of it

It will do only what you program it to do
