Both the WS1080 and 1095 are Phase II capable.

That is a given considering they are basic clones of the PSR 800 which is Phase II capable.

Well hopefully they are going to add an extra bell and a whistle before they come out by Christmas. Maybe it will come with a SIREN app that actually works out of the box. HAHA

I'm not expecting anything new over the existing PSR-800 feature set that was previously released...

One reliable dealer (Ham Station) is currently expecting the 1080 around the end of September.

As for the 1095, there is no announced date. One fly-by-night website is claiming to expect it on Sep 8, but that's totally bogus. One poster said that someone at Whistler told him it would be towards the end of this year. So basically, it's too soon to have a realistic date for the 1095.

Interestingly, I can't find any approvals for the 1080 or the 1095 in the FCC database. The only approvals I could find there are the RS versions of the currently available radios (models 649, 650, 651 and 652). I assume that those approvals also apply to the Whistler-branded versions of those same radios (1010, 1025, 1040 and 1065), since they are being sold.

I can't help wondering if the release of the 1080 is waiting on FCC approval.

How is the WS-1095 a clone of the HP?

You can't compare an apple to a lemon, with the lemon being the HP
How do you know it will be an Apple since you or anyone does not have one? Instead of assuming it will be better as you always do let's wait until they are on the market and in users hands to find out if it is a home run or foul ball.

Very true. While it should be basically a B/M version of the PSR-800, a la the 500 vs 600, this one never got beyond prototype with GRE so we just don't know. But it's got me drooling. The piggybank is being padded in anticipation, whether of a WS-1095 that's everything we hope it will be, or a finally-fixed-fully-functional 536hp remains to be determined sometime first quarter of 2015.

Unless something else breaks around here and said pig winds up losing his fat yet again...
