how to install ez scan for ws 1080

could not install the ez scan software. I followed the instructions. plug the scanner in the pc with the usb cord and could not get the computer to do anything. any suggestions.

I can't get my computer to recognize the scanner so I can't do firmware updates. My PRO-18 had this issue too. When I plug the scanner in to my computer it shows up as USB unrecognized device. I can upload programming by taking the SD card out of the radio and plugging it into a micro SD card adapter but I still can't update the firmware. That requires it to be connected via the USB cable. Any suggestions? I'm sure other people have been able to update the firmware on their WS1080.

I got it to work. Apparently, the WS1080 doesn't like USB 3.0. I plugged it into a USB 2.0 and it works!

What operating system are you trying to install EZScan on?

I don't know the system it is my grandmothers computer. I spoke with with the whistler tech support and decided just to send in the sd card and let them work their magic.
