PSR 800 issue with P25 system

Original post on Florida Forum: "I just added the MDPD P25 system (site 102) on my PSR-800 scanner and cannot hear anything. The display flickers with the " D "symbol sporadically indicating that if is decoding the digital voice ( i think), and I've even heard little bits of a digitized voice. What do you thing I'm doing wrong?""

This was my first attempt with a P25 system ( Miami Dade County, FL) , so it may be something simple that I may have overlooked. I have no issues with conventional trunking systems. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have the latest firmware and dsp updates that you can get with the ezscan application.

I think firmware is at 1.9 and dsp at 1.3.

Just yesterday I was monitoring a phase 2 p25 system after doing some updates on the radio and was getting the same symptoms. Plugged the radio in and re-loaded the latest firmware and found I was also on dsp 1.0 somehow when it should be 1.3. After that fix, decoded audio returnedm
