GRE PSR-275 charging question

I have just been given a GRE PSR-275 Handheld scanner, i have downloaded the instruction manual but am struggling to tell if it is charging or not, does it have a light to indicate this or does it say on screen if it's charging

Looking at the owner's manual, it appears any time an adapter is plugged into the "charge" jack the batteries are charging. A full charge takes about 14-16 hours for drained batteries.

It does not appear there is any type of indicator that the batteries are charging. The batteries may get a little warm when they are close to being fully charged which may be one way to tell.
