When I went down to L.A. to visit family for Christmas I monitored the LAFD and I heard quite a bit of traffic on Channel 6. This channel shows as "Emergency/Trigger" on the database, but the traffic did not sound like it had anything to do with an on-going emergency. Does anyone know if the use of this channel has changed, and if so, what is the new use?

Does/did your file have the "current" version of Channel 6, 858.2375, PL 131.8? In late 2007 LAFD swapped the frequencies of Channels 6 and 12. Ch 12 (now 860.4375, PL 186.2) is the first-up tac frequency for fire incidents in the metro area.
Compare today's http://lafd.org/freq.htm with the 11/17/2007 version at http://web.archive.org/web/20071117193540/http://www.lafd.org/freq.htm

Thanks Harry, that clears up the situation. I did not notice the trade between channels 6 and 12. I will reprogram that file immediately.

Arriving somewhere, but not here . . .
I know I am a little late with this, but I just got the info last night.

My buddy made a copy of the frequency list on his engine, and it matches what is on their webiste. Laid out a little different, but the channels and freqs match.

Hope this helps . . .
