I'm just not getting this. I'm trying to get ICIS Verdugo running on my Arc 500/PSR-500. I use the data from RR. Nothing really works right. I do get the timely dead air / no audio on Red 1 UHF at the same time Red 1 is broadcasting VHF. Then there are times I get Red 1 working on UHF. But thats all I hear. I really dont hear everything, very little, maybe a dispatch or two. I seem to get more out of Verdugo on the old VHF than the new system (BCT15 unit.) I hear more on the old system. I never hear vhf and the uhf system at the same time with 2 different scanners. I have the same issue with the PD side of ICIS. Not much of anything. I get maybe a glimmer from a PD dispatch from the P25 side. One station is about all. Now I'm monitoring on top of the hills above, La Canada, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank. So I'm right in the middle of everything, using a 18" 1/4 wave whip. I'm using all 33 possible freq' that are listed, on all sites. I use 380 as the offset. I have set up my scanner with every possible senerio of configuration I can. The two setups that do work is for the little I get is; Verdugo on MOT type 2 uhf. And the lone PD running MOT P25. I have listen to Verdugo in the past and heard everything all the time before the switch, so I know there is more traffic than what I'm hearing.

Which site are you trying to get from there? Also what are you using for your hi/lo values and spacing.

eng74, so what your saying is I cant scan all cites in one group (bank). I need to break the cites up into their own seperate banks. Then lock out the one I'm not wanting to listen to at the time. The BCT15 for non-p25 would be easier due to the 100 banks possible, where as the PSR500 allows only 20. If thats the case then that might make sence.

No, you need a bank for each site....and dont take any shortcuts...I bet some of the folks that just programed one control channel for Glendale are lost now that they are switching control channels regularly.

If you want to just listen to those agencies, just program in the Glendale Site, as that is where Pasadena will land once they go online. (Although I have heard rumors of encryption for PPD)

On the PSR-500 you don't need to use separate scanlists if you don't want to. You do need to create a separate talksystem (TSYS) for each site.

For the Glendale site I have mine set up as follows:

Type: MOT VHF/UHF
Frequencies: Ch01 482.1875
Ch02 482.2375
Ch03 482.2875
Ch04 484.1875

Under Tables I have:
Lo Chan: 380
Hi Chan: 499
Offset: 380
Base 470.0125
Step: 12.5

I haven't used ARC500 so I am not sure how that program will set up the multisite. For eache site you need to put in the Base, Offset, Step, Hi, and Lo.

If you had a BCD396T I would just send you my Verdugo USD file I have..... ICIS and Conventional.

Sometimes there's like a millisecond delay with the traffic on Green 7 and the traffic on ICIS Red 1, so its like a echo effect if you have both on at the same time.

Well some of the confusion comes from different information. Some use the 380 offset and some use the 480.5, some are marked as digital and some analog, some have both, all RR databased. I live in the whittier area so I'm not in a prime are where I can take the time to monitor. So I hit and miss when I'm in the area for a few hours every other day. I used to have the 396, kept the pro 96 instead, not the best move. The dead air on the PSR 500 on ICIS is just nuts, that could be part of my problem with lack of radio talk.

Well I got it sorted out, I went back and read all of the old posts. I got the one that mentioned spliting the base and off set freq's, that one did the trick. I now have Verdugo running on my GRE500 and my RS 2096. I'll program the BCT15 later. One thing I did notice is that my PSR500 will only allow 32 freq's for the control freq's. If I put in more the software crashes.

Thanks to all

I think that the delay there is caused from the location of that piece of equipment. rather than having the patch in at icis they use a homebuilt radio to radio converter box at sierra madre fire station 1that rx's red1 off icis and retransmits it over green 7. it isnt the best way of doing it but its the only way for us to receive it throughout sierra madre on vhf.

if you can please post your code plug on the files portio of the site so we can compare works.
