I was listening online to some of the traffic from the Chino prison riot last night and heard an Ontario Fire dispatcher tell a unit to respond on "17-Command-1, 17-Tac-1". I am not familiar with a System 17. Any ideas?

Both the prisons (men and women's) have Motorola 800MHz trunked systems so maybe local law enforcement and fire have direct access to their system for mutual aid incidents.

I know this is an old thread but...

System 11-20 are extensions of system 1-10. It is just how the unit radios are programmed in 16 channel groups.

So system 17 is actually system 7 for scanning purposes.
