Hearing activity on 460.525 tonight related to the OC Fair. Units using a "58" designator. 5892 and 5894.

This brings up a question: is there a list posted anywhere on RR that has all of the Orange County station identifiers, i.e. 26 for Anaheim PD, 44 for Costa Mesa PD, 58 for whomever?

It seems the fire agencies no longer use these designators. I remember Costa Mesa Fire used to be station 84, and identified its trucks 8401, 8402, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

do you know the pl or dpl for 460.525 ?

Sorry, I don't. I didn't have my unit set to pick up tones.

P.S. I also posted my query on the socalscan board on Yahoo. A nice gent told me that "58" designators are for the OC Sheriff's Search and Rescue. The designator is1858XX. In my case 185892 and 185894. This makes sense since someone on the RR board previously mentioned that 460.525 MHz was used by the OC Sheriff's Search and Rescue squad.

460.525 is known as BLUE channel.
PL 103.5 (which would make it analog)

there is also 460.3000, known as MAROON
PL 103.5

Unknown what it's used for exactly, but it's a legit channel.

The 58xx units are OC Sheriff's reserve officers. They use Blue for most of their ops such as call outs. They also have 800MHz radios so they can use any talkgroup related to an incident that they respond to. Blue is kind of a chit-chat channel which I'm sure Control 1 just loves. Blue is also OC UHF Access for surrounding UHF users outside of the County.
