As some of you probably have heard, the LA City Council last week approved plans that would see the LAFD cut staffing the equivalent of 318 field positions. Along with the cuts there are multiple stations which will see reductions or changes in equipment assigned effective July 5th.

With the reductions, the LAFD divisional breakdowns will change. No longer will there be Divisions 1-3, but instead a North and South divisions will be created which with the exception of a few stations basically divides the city down around Wilshire Blvd.

For specifics as to the new divisions, battalion assignments and station equipment inventory see the below LAFD bulletin.

I have not yet heard of any frequency or dispatch procedure changes which will occur as result of the adjustments.
