Default Orange County RED Talkgroup tonight

This is what scanning is all about. The good stuff.

Was locked on 50720 RED Talkgroup. Seal Beach PD chasing a guy and got in a gun fight where Seal Beach PD pumped him full of bullets.

Then listened to ORCO Disptach on 2672 dispatch ORCO fire 48

Orco 48 went on scene on 4 delta 2736

Contaced OCC on MED CALL on 6A 6896

Then went to listen to OCC talk to HB Hospital on 27680.

Then went to listen to OCRO Fire Medic on 6H on 7120.

this is what gets our blood pumping with this hobby. Being able to listen and understand

In Orco the Only LE on a scanner you will hear is the Red rest are encrypted and i'm not sure if it will be in the "clear" P25 any time soon.

Man dies after being shot by Garden Grove officer | police, garden, car - News - The Orange County Register

Authorities said the officer lost sight of the car during the pursuit and broadcast a countywide description of him and his vehicle to police.

As from my understanding is that when any OC police agency or OC Sheriffs get into a pursuit with somebody wanted for either a bank robbery or a high speed chase or etc.... police units contact Control One on the RED CHANNEL Talkgroup which activates all radios and agencies which gives the advantage of Orange County to get all agencies involved which can get mutual aid from surrounding cities to help out.

Default Some law enforcement can be heard

There is a small amount of city police & county sheriff activity which can be heard in Orange County. There are Pink channels that are analog for communicating between police & fire or other agencies. The Tan channels also for interop comms are analog. The Red channel for countywide crime broadcasts & pursuits is digital and in the clear. County Sheriff Search & Rescue has analog channels. The Highway Patrol, State Universities (except Cal State Fullerton), and State Parks Police are all in the clear. Police helicopters using TG's & low band & aircraft frqs are monitorable.

So there's enough to hear, just the lack of primary dispatch channels making a catastrophic dent in a scanner enthusiasts hobby.

Scanner Suggestion for Southern CA

Back in the "old" days, pursuits would stay on GREEN for quite a while. Usually until it appeared that the suspect would leave the agency's jurisdiction. At least that is how it seemed to go, anyway. But that was 10-15 years ago.

Crazy people that go nuts and take the police on high speed pursuits through senior citizen communites and put these old people in danger deserve it. Also, this person tried to car jack another person at a gas station. This monster of a person does not get empathy. He deserved what was coming to him which was bullets....
