Default New Riverside System - Encryption?

Has anyone by heard if it is definite that LE agencies on the new Riverside system will be encrypted, or is this speculation?

Appreciate any info that we might have!

Based on the initial documents from the County and the presence of encrypted TG's on the system during testing, I would say yes. Sure it's speculation, but that's all we have.
I'm confident enough to be sure there will be encryption, the big question will be how much and we won't know that until the system goes live.
One good thing is that it doesn't appear at this point in time that any city PD's will be party to PSEC. Doesn't mean they won't eventually encrypt on their own. It's more affordable than ever.

Well the new ERICA system has Indio,Palm Springs, The city of Beaumont, and Desert Hot Springs LE on this system and they are all ENCRYPTED. I ran pro96com on the data control channel and all of the talkgroups all are showing scrambled and encrypted.

The PSEC system is X2-TDMA and their is only one radio on the market right now that can decode this modulation which is the PSR-800 and you will probably see the same trend as ERICA.

The old Riverside EDACS LE system is still up and in the clear which is cool to listen to. Just enjoy it while it last.

I've removed the OT encryption chatter. Please do not hijack another thread with generalized encryption banter. The topic is as the subject states.
