Every single radio has been reprogrammed that operates on the system. The rebanding reprogramming gives the radios the ability to see the old and new control channels. A status bit is on the OSW indicating that the system has rebanded I believe which references revised channel tables in the radios. They also have all the new T/A channels and mutual aid channels reprogrammed.

Most agencies have purchased new P25 subscribers so they are ready to migrate to the P25 system after the dust settles with rebanding. Many of the sites already have the P25 infrastructure installed so it's just a matter of a cell by cell cutover to P25 in 2019-2020.

The P25 system will also add additional RF sites (cells) to current sites to improve coverage and performance. With the migration to P25, the County will be able to do over the air reprogramming of radios in the field. They will no longer need to "touch" every radio for updates in the programming templates including removing the old legacy CCCS Smartzone info.

If you're referring to the new P25 system, the timeframe is supposedly 12-18 months, probably less now.

Hi MarkB and Allend,

If I'm understanding correctly, county-wide has been rebanded, but the P25 system has not yet come online and we're looking at 12-18 months or less?

Yes no working daily P25 Site is up and running. As to the time frame its all about speculation and timelines for when radio communication for OCSD finalizes the project. From being on the outside nobody has the exact answer for you.

Well they have replaced all of their older Motorola base/mobile radios since those radios will not be-able to do P25 Phase I. Also, the rate they have been re-banding and they are almost complete now. So it looks like they are moving pretty fast at the project.

Maybe by the end of this year you might see some P25 sites going online. Seems by other posts that the hardware backbone is already in place.

Can anyone confirm that Anaheim Police dispatch is in the clear, d.b. Says “D” or is this a error. I thought all of OrCo Police was the big E., also looks like the control channel needs updated on the D.B. Too.
