Default N00b to Orions- Dual radio & HHC questions

I'm soon going to be getting a dual band 100 watt (each radio) Orion setup, Low Band (35-50 mhz) and a UHF (ham split) -set up to work on one control head. I have a few questions.

1. Would I be able to purchase a HHC and use it with this setup? If so, is there a control head which would be better suited to purchase to work with the HHC, or are both equally compatible? (I have the option between either control head)

2. How hard would it be to make it work, and would the HHC control both radios, or only one? Also, is there any features which would not work, or any issues? (volume control, switching channels, etc)

3. Besides purchasing a HHC, and a extension cable to go from the HHC to the control head in the trunk, is there any other parts needed/required to make it work properly? (like interconnect boxes, etc)

4. Most importantly, does anyone have a HHC -and any other parts I would require for sale?

Thanks for any info, as I'm just about to get into using Orions..

HHC can control both with proper setup + cables. I just removed a dual band HHC setup with VRS and SS2000 setup from my car, since I'm going to be buying a new car....

You need to assign a button to the HHC to switch to the other radio.

The HHC IS the control head.

You'll need the HHC T-connector, the extended options cable, and the dual radio cable. There are two versions of the T-connector. One for siren, one without.

I sent you a PM+email earlier about parts/complete setup, with no response.

Never got anything... Nothing in my PM box from you at all.. email... nothing either, unless you were the one who emailed you could do this, but I replied on the orion group about my emails auto deleting while I was away this past weekend.

PM inbound nonetheless.

So you are planning a control head in the trunk and an HHCH?

According to ProGrammer, you can not do BOTH dual-radio and dual-control. It's one or the other.

The HHCH can be your head...you don't piggyback off of a "regular" head.

Thats what I was thinking of doing, as I was unsure if it could be done.

Ah, even better to know. So, if I was to have a whole setup, (dual radios, dual radio cable) what else would I need to make it work with a HHC?

I believe: A HHCH and the HHCH "T" cable that goes between the HHCH and the regular control cable. The T cable has a double DB25, one side for the control cable and one for the option cable. You also need a regular option cable for the speaker connection, as the HHCH does not have a speaker built in.

Take a look at MM101984V1
