A lot will depend upon the terrain. In Vancouver, there are a lot of ridges that block RF, with the sites located in the valleys between the ridges. The problems would only occur at the tops of the ridges, and only if both channels were lit simultaneously, and it were a mobile doing the transmitting on the ridge top and a portable a long way from the receiving site on the other system.
Even if they are both control channels, assuming that color coding is turned on both sites will operate just fine, except that ProScan will have a very hard time.....
My guess is that Ecomm is planning to shut down the frequencies on the older site....they are just moving them.
