Default Kmc-300

I will be receiving one of these radios shortly in the VHF band (136-153) its main purpose is for 2 meter ham, but is it possible to bring these radios above 153 possibly to 155/156 MHz? anything pretty much above 147.995 will just be RX only.

It should go there OK. I don't have any VHF units but I have a few 450-470 and programmed them to 440.5 so I would assume the VHF is capable as well.

The UHF mid range KMCs are actually 440-470 radios, not 450-470.
