Default New Harris man pack tactical radio

Since it's a Harris product I thought I'd post it here. Looks interesting.

Nope, this forum is good.

Thanks for posting it. Looks very cool. I'd hate to be the guy paying for it though.

Forget paying for it - how'd you like to be the guy who has to lug that beast around on top of all the other gear soldiers have to carry? That would SUCK....

Mike What makes you think you are not paying for it?

As this radio system is for the milatary, every one is paying for it, you just do not have to take the $10,000.00 directly out of your pocket.

Let's not get into a taxpayer debate. If you want to discuss the radio then please do so.

If you want to debate who's paying for it than do so in the Tavern.

The radio doesn't seem that useful for regular people since it only covers 30-512MHz for voice and above that its data/networking. According to the brochure it doesn't do narrow band FM per the 2013 FCC mandate.

I would much rather have the Harris RF-7800M-HH which has about the same frequency range and capability for voice but in a hand held size.
