Question on my Harris P7200

Hello i have an Harris P7200 set up to RX, no TX on 2 different EDACS Systems. On system one does not display an F on the display. System too I programed them identical just different frequencies for the two systems different system IDs any ideas what this F is for?

Ok update i can't post the picture. So give more details the f is located right next to the arrow that indicates low power or high power it's on the left hand side.

Your sentence was painful to figure out but I think I understood one of your questions.

The "F" icon on the display means the site is in failsoft, which isn't abnormal for sites without a site controller or that have lost connection to it. You can safely ignore it. As to your question about frequencies I have no idea what you are asking.

Don't forget that there are some EDACS systems out with without a Site Controller, and have never had one installed. This is the normal situation for them.

My local big regional electric company: American Electric Power (AEP) has a four channel site on the mountain just south of me. Failsoft 100% of the time for the past 20 years. This site is linked via T-1 or Microwave into their network. But has never had or needed a Site Controller.

For EDACS sites without a Site Controller, control functions were handled by the GETC (GE Trunking Card) installed on the Control Channel repeater.

When the GETC was superseded a number of years back, the replacement device was called a SitePro, which offered the same functions.
