Default Jaguar 700P Channel Knob

I have a loose channel knob on my Jaguar and was wondering how I can access the screw to tighten it down? Thanks for your help!!

If it is one of the old channel knobs, these will not tighten as they just slip on. If it is the newer version, just pull the knob cap off and tighten with an allen wrench. .05 I think is the size. If the whole shaft is loose, you will need to remove the whole knob and tighten with a small screwdriver (jewelers).

We've had this problem on the P7100 series as well. M/A-Com has a kit with knobs for both models.

The nuts for the volume and channel controls has a bad habit of coming loose. The old timers trick of using nail polish doesn't seem to work. I've had to use Loctite on these and they still come loose after a while. Then again, I don't have the right tool for those nuts and have just been using needle nose pliers. I just ordered the $180 special tool to tighten those nuts and we'll see if that improves things.

M/a com is looking at the problem, and is trying to get a fix on it, they think it is a batch of radios and in the latest shipments it has been fixed. chk with your local dealer.

Thanks, I'll inquire again about it. Most of mine are 2+ years old now.

I acually just took my loose knob off, since it was a replacement already and stuck a little superglue in it and shoved it back on... Hasn't came back off.
