Looking for MDX Info

I am looking for information on the MDX mobile radio.

Can the radio be upgraded from the N model to the R model ?
(I need Edacs wide with about 8 systems and a total of 230 talkgroups)

I am assuming that the N model will do it if it is upgraded ?

N Dual Format 16 Grp/Sys
P 128 Grp/Sys
R 625 Grp/Sys

Secondly ... can a person just call Macom and get the latest files for this radio ? Does anyone know if there is a charge for this.

My radio is new ... but I dont know what it has in it for dsp / flash etc.

As well does anyone know if it is possible to download the owners manual for the MDX as I dont have the radio yet for a few weeks and want to study up on it before it arrives. Or if someone has it in pdf could they possibly send it to me ?

yes what you want is doable but is not available to the public its all a part of the feature encription all the radios out there by m/a com or com net and so on have the ability to do everythin just depends if its activated at the factory or not
2 im not sure on this but im sure there is a hefty charge for it
3 if youdont have a ver. of programmer than you can go through the on screen displays to find out whats in the radio (i dont have on here so i cant tell you the steps)
4 you can try http://www.macom.com/ but i think the mdx had been discontinued
