Default World Clock Wallpaper

I've been using a neat program that allows you to have a custom world clock as your wallpaper, as well as plot the Shortwave stations you've received. Best of all it's free. Q++ World Clock

Hmmm...not sure why that's not working for you? Mine worked right from the moment I installed it. Did you check the instructions?

Same here with the absent terminator. Also, I could not get back to the "local time from system clock" location after picking another one. I found no way to add new locations to the database, nor could I figure out how to select which locations would be displayed.

I uninstalled it because it doesn't do anything special for me.

I had similar results. I firgured it was because the info on the web page talks about auto configuring it based on your screen resolution, which I did see it doing when it installed. The installer said it was checking my registry so it could set things up. The web page info did say it would default to showing 20 cities for screen widths of 1024 or less. I guess that is why some of the advertised features did not come up since I have max 1024 x 600 on my netbook. I thought you should be able to manually configure it after though, but there were none of the items available on the config screen. I dumped it too.

While I haven't got it set up as a wallpaper, I've been using GeoClock for years now. The author is working on Vista compatibility (a shame, really, since Windows7 is due out this summer). That link, among others, can be found on the HF Propagation wiki...

On my vista, it didn't work at all. Just a blue screen...

Sounds like PIBKAC and RTFM issues to me. The software states it is not Vista compatible. Everything works fine for me in XP. I can add and remove locations and can even show a station (i.e. Voice of Russia) on the map versus the city.

At least I learned a valuable lesson. No good deed goes unpunished. I simply was trying to help by posting an interesting, free program that works just fine on a half a dozen of my computers, only to be met by a bunch of negativity. I'll know better next time.

I can't use many of the others because they don't look so great on my 1920 x 1080 monitor.
