Default 530 khz cw

While driving I tuned to 530KHZ and heard beeping over Radio Enciopedia (or whatever Cuba sends out), can anyone ID it? No traffic just beep beep beep.

Thanks, Rob

AM DX logs here!

Nov15 03:05 529 LYQ NDB out of Manchester, TN booming in tonight with CW ident repeating over CIAO Toronto. Was listening to them in the car. - de k9rzz wi (this NDB is actually at the WWRB shortwave transmitter site).

It's an aeronautical direction finding beacon, callsign "LYQ" on 529khz.

Nice catch.

What's the power output? Sounds like it's only 5-10 watts?

According to their website: "Currently, Airline Transport Communications is now testing its latest product, the fully solid-state 760-L nondirectional beacon system. The 760-L nondirectional beacon suits any airport's needs, with continuously variable power from 1 to 2000 watts.
