Nice log. I see you made it to Iowa to the west. Look for Minneapolis on 830, they get out well, and Denver 850.

Thanks!
In my younger days, I would hear WOWO nightly using a RS DX-302 and a trap dipole above the house. Hearing Waterloo & Iowa City that night was a surprise for me. The other surprise was WPLA, a 1kw nighttime. Not often do I hear a 1kw that clear that far away!!

One station I used to hear with the DX-302 was Radio Cayman on 1555khz, sometimes was a challenge between WBSC Bennetsville SC (1550 after local WVAB signed off) and WQXR. That station would sign off midnight ET with a song by a children's choir followed by "God Save the Queen". IIRC RC ran 10kw.

Nice log, here is my curiosity from last night - India MW station in Midwest?

Last night I was tuning around on a 1942 Philco 42-390 radio chassis that I restored for a friend. I was tuned to 1540 AM as confirmed by signal generator and KXEL interference. What sounded like an India radio broadcast was coming in pretty well. It was constantly playing music, so I never got an ID of any kind. Anyone else here this station on 1540? I do hold out the possibility that it could of been an image frequency making it through the passband, but it seemed authentic. Any thoughts on what the station I was hearing could be? I got a video of the radio and station playing the music. I will attach if I can figure out how.

Indian station again

Again tonight I am listening to an Indian station on. 1540 AM, but this time I fired my Hallicrafters SX-42 and confirmed that this is a real station on 1540 kHz not an image. Anyone else hearing this station or have an idea what the origin might be? I am picking up this station consistently from 0300 -0400 GMT.

Interesting log! At my QTH in Ogden, UT (35 miles north of Salt Lake City), WCCO 830 is easy to hear on a clear night, but not WHO 1040. Their signal is usually wiped out by adjacent channel KTWO 1030. However, there was one occasion about 10 years ago that I did hear WHO with a positive ID, and it was with an old (1950's) Sears Silvertone clock radio. Some of the old tube BCB receivers from the 40's and 50's have amazing sensitivity!

Nice list. I can receive some of those from Houston, such as KMOX, WHO, WWL, WSM, and occasionally WGN and WSB. I receive a different 1130 here-KWKH in Shreveport LA. I can receive WOAI 1200 San Antonio where I catch Spurs games. I seem to get WOAI better when I'm on a trip up north in OK and KS a little better than here at home.

WOAI usually comes in over here on the MS coast pretty well. When I listen to Coast to Coast AM, I'll try to get it by them first, even though there are two nearby FM stations that broadcast the same stuff. Paranormal just sounds better when it's bounced off the ionosphere.

Also, when I'm over in the FL panhandle WOAI is kind of 50-50 to get, but it's the only way to get C2C over there. Sometimes you gotta play the cards you're dealt.
