Arrow What to do when no C tone is required?

I have an icom f121 and have a channel where no c tone is required on TX . I have tried putting 0.00000 mhz and null in but the software keeps automatically filling in whatever the RX tone is. What do I need to do to make this stop?

Thanks!

If the radios program like the F30GT, then it is either no tone Rx or TX, only a Tx tone, or Rx/Tx tones. I have not heard of a system that transmits CTCSS but does not require one to access. You will have to put "none" on the receive tone setting to set the Tx tone to null.

Is there a problem with transmitting the Rx tone?

Default No Tone

Hmm, do you need to have a rx tone? And no transmit tone, that seems a tad bit odd of a setup.

Check the mode in the common screen for simplex as well or ctcss both, I forget exactily what its called. But, that might be part of the issue as well. I don't have the software in front of me to play with at the moment.

Instead of direct entry, mouse click the box and you should get a drop down box with choices. Click none from there.

Buckshot106, did you try double clicking the box where the tone goes in?

Moved to the LMR Icom forum since the 121 is an LMR radio.
