External speaker Plug for Icom f121

I have a few external speakers but none with the plug to fit my Icom (f121). If I got one of those plugs would my motorola speaker work?

I've never specifically tried with a Moto speaker or on a f121, but I did solder a 3.5mm jack onto the wiring of an old but comparable GE speaker a while back, and it works fine on my Yaesu 8800r. Hope that helps.

It's a regular 1/8" mono phone plug available at Radio Shack or just about anywhere else.
