Default Need help with F-1721D

I am programming my F-1721D and was trying to figure out if there is a way to program the radio to scan even if the microphone is not grounded. I believe Motorola refers to it as off-hook scan. Can this be done?

I don't have one of those radios, but take a look in the software under: Common > Key & Display > Hanger Action

There should be an option for "Hook on Scan". Try setting it to "OFF" if your radio isn't already set that way. With this option on, the radio tries to scan when it sees the microphone grounded. Perhaps by disabling that, it won't try to stop scanning when removed from the hanger. Newer models have advanced scan options where you can choose exactly what happens when you take the mic off the hook.
