Icom USB Cloning Cable Driver Windows 7
Has anyone had any luck in getting the driver for the Icom usb clonng cable to load up in Windows 7? I have tried the Vista version but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Make sure that you've got the correct version for your OS. If you have a 64 bit version of Windows 7, you'll need the 64 bit version of the driver. Attempting to use the 32 bit Vista (or any other 32 bit OS) driver will not work. The bit depth of the driver must match that of the OS in use.

The driver is only a 32 bit Vista driver. I've looked on the Icom site but see no newer driver. Any ideas where I might find one?

Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? That will tell us what driver you need. You can find out using Start (the round blue Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen); Control Panel; System. The center section of the screen will have the details about your "System", one of which is "System type:". "64-bit Operating System" will say that the 32 bit Vista driver isn't correct.

It is a 64 bit system. Hence the problem. I just don't know where to lay my hands on an updated driver, (if there even is one).

Hi, if you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate (32 or 64 Bit) try run application in Windows XP Mode
Then XP drivers should work. Win 7 Starter or Home Editions don't have this facility.
Worth trying.

i ran mine in compatibility mode for xp sp2 and it worked. make sure you uninstall the current driver then reinstall. this was for the icom f6021..should be the same serial to usb cable.

I know this is an old topic, but I just bought an RX7 and the USB drivers would not install on my Windows 7 64-Bit machine. Icom has updated drivers on their Japan site that are compatible with Windows 7 64-Bit machines here:

Firmware Updates / Software Downloads | Support | Icom Inc

Hope this helps.
