Icom F121S and F3011 slow to unmute speaker with dpl

Hey guys, I have several vhf F121S and F3011 radios and they work great, except Ive found they are slow to unmute the speaker when using a dcs code. Especially when talking to motorola radios using dpl. When the user talks usually the first syllable is cut out. Is there any adjustment to help correct this or is it just the dcs decoder slow in the Icom. Also ctcss works fine.

That is a problem that is intrinsic to the specific chip that is used for PL/DPL decoding. No cure.

Additionally, some radios show problems with squelch muting when a PL tone above 200 Hz is used.
Below 200 it's fine.

Some DCS codes (D125N from first hand experience) have issues that cannot be resolved. The newer 5121 radios don't have that issue.

Maker reserve allows adjustment of the attack times. WARNING: do one radio at a time and close/open the software between radios. Each radio is unique as a snowflake and you can brick the radio pretty easily.

I don't remember the exact details, but a couple years ago I had to adjust CTCSS attack on three 121's used in voting receivers- down- the lower the value the less stringently the gate is applied as I recall. DCS attack is probably the same.
