Icom IC-R20 - Is There A Programmable Step?
The Icom IC-R20 Wiki page here at RR indicates that the R20 has a user programmable step size. I can't find this in the documentation or by searching. Can anyone that owns an R20 comment on whether this is an undocumented feature or if the Wiki is in error. I'm considering the purchase of a used one. Without a 7.5 KHz step size, it's not going to work for me the way I want it to.
Thanks in advance.

I read that Mike, thanks. I was wondering if there was a separate user programmable step. My IC-R8500 has such a feature. The wiki seems to indicate that as well. Maybe it's a misinterpretation of "Selectable depending on operating bands", which means that the 8.33 and 9 KHz steps only show up for air band and AM broadcast modes respectively.
Icom makes good stuff, but it amazes me to no end how they can omit a 7.5 KHz tuning step and block the "cellular" band starting at 867 MHz. DOH. Guess I'll skip this one.

You could always get around the 7.5kHz problem by setting the step to 0.1kHz.

True, but it would take about a day for it to scan through a few MHz at that rate.
Ah well...

Hmmm... so does this mean you are back to using an R8500....
PS: still loving my 5000, but use the 8500s a bunch too...
