IC-R20 Discriminator Tap Mount Point?

Hello,

I just acquired a used full coverage Icom IC-R20 receiver. I have reviewed the discriminator tap modification and it appears to be an easy one.

My question to anyone that has done the mod is, where did you mount the jack, and did you use a 1/8" mono jack or something else?

I read where the headphone jack was unwired and used at the audio point.

Hi Dave,

I have read the page you sent; it's where I found the info to tap the radio. Someone else mentioned using the headphone jack, but I want to preserve it as it allows CI-V control. I doubt I'll ever control it via computer but if I turn around and sell it I'll want that part intact. I just need to take it apart and figure out a good spot for the jack. From the sounds of it I'm guessing there's not a lot of room in there.
