Default ICR20 for DUMMIES????

I just got an icr20.
I'm NOT a ham or a radio guy...I barely know how to work my clock radio.

Is there a manual that is written for the ordinary person ?
Or, is there anyone who could spend a half hour or so on the phone and help me
with basic programming.
If anyone can leave me a phone #, that would be great.
Or conversely, if you are prepared to talk with me, let me know and I will
respond with my phone number.

Thanks, Ness

I might be able to give you some pointers, but I have had an IC-R20 for over 2 years and still have to have the manual out when I want to make programing changes.

Default Nice MT R20 review PDF file

I don't own an R20 but here's a nice Monitoring Times review of the radio :

http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mtscan1104.pdf

The USB programming cable and RS-R20 software is probably a good
route to take. My Icom R10 is very difficult to program by hand.

The following spectrum chart may help you get familiar with the radio spectrum:

and lastly here is a good in a nutshell primer on scanning:
