Trunk scanning with IC-208H

Not exactly sure what forum to put this in, thought I would put it in here because it is a scanning question.

I have been reading reviews on the Icom IC- 208H dual band mobile radio.

One review I have read, the person that wrote it, talks about using it to monitor a trunked system.

They talk about putting in the frequecies with the control channel blocked,.

My question is, is this possible?

That would be really cool if it can be done, as I would love to have the ability to monitor the local fire and ems talkgroups and have a dual band mobile, with out having to buy 2 separate units, due to lack of space.

Ok, thanks to google I found another post on here that answered my question.

No doubt what the individual did was what we had to do before trunktrackers came out - program all the system frequencies and lock out the control channel. There aren't any ham radios that can trunktrack, AFAIK - at least not yet.
